STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    I wrote this song while home in bed with the flu. E’TOWN EXPRESS needed a new encore song, so I created verses from experiences that Byron Peregrim (co-founder and original drummer of E’TOWN EXPRESS) and I had while rebuilding my family home in Elizabethtown, NY. I love Chuck Berry’s music, and this song oozes his influence.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    The opening lines of this song popped into my head as I walked into a brew pub in Saratoga Springs, NY. I wrote the rest of it a week later while driving to Elizabethtown.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    The opening guitar rift was stuck in my head for months. I played it over and over again, but no words came to mind. While watching the news one evening, I thought that “Hard Times were Falling”. After that, the song pretty much wrote itself.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    I wrote this song the same year I graduated from high school. My high school band AVIATOR played this song at every show. This song has been a setlist standard of every band I played with ever since.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    This song arose from a comment Rob Jr. made to me. He said that I always wrote songs that made sense, but he insisted that not every song needed to make sense. So, I wrote this song with the specific goal of making no sense. (I write the rest of my songs so they make sense!)

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    When he was a young boy, one of Rob Jr.’s favorite movies was Kurt Russell’s BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. This song was inspired by that movie.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    I wrote this semi-biographical song about my landlord from 1984. He was a wonderful man who often complained that he let his life pass by too fast.

John Durden                Bass

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    I wrote this song on a very cold February afternoon in Elizabethtown, NY. As first written, the song was much longer. I edited it down to tighten it up. As a North Country kid, I cannot imagine a better way to head north than by train!

10. ADIRONDACK MAN

(Rob Pulsifer) © 2008 Boquet River Music, Inc.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    Our Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they discovered how the “limited” governments they created (federal/state/local) have slipped out of the restraints they placed on them. They would be furious to see how those governments have grown obnoxious and tyrannical. This song sends a warning that Red-Blooded American Patriots will not give up their liberty and freedom without a fight!

Rich Stigberg               Drums

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    On a cold day in November, I played a beat-up acoustic guitar and stared out the window of my E’Town house. Snow began to fall on the Black River, the border of my property. As the storm strengthened, so did the tune I was playing. By the time the snow stopped, the instrumental was complete.

STORY BEHIND THE SONG:    Like so many folks, I love Christmas. Sitting at the kitchen island at my house in E’Town one morning in December 2008, I decided to write a Christmas song. When I finished it, I realized its three verses outlined a Christmas story, so I decided to write a book to accompany the song. Over the years, I worked on the book a little at a time. In 2018, I buckled down and finished the book. The editing process is under way, and I intend to publish the book in 2019. If all goes well, I might convert it into a movie screenplay…
